Click-N-Type Version 3.03.0362 Default Program-Message Prototype File (original file name: Messages-English.txt) INTRODUCTION: Many of the program "messages" that are displayed while Click-N-Type is running can be modified (for example, to appear in different languages) simply by altering the "default" English text in the table of program messages that appears below. HERE'S HOW: All of these lines at the beginning of this file, up to the first line of the table - i.e. the first line that starts with a colon (:) - are "comments", notes for us humans that the computer completely ignores. From the first line beginning with a colon to the end of the file is a "Translation Table" consisting of a series of two-part entries which, together, contain all the modifiable text for the program's various advisory and error messages. To change the language in which the messages are displayed (or just to change default English of the messages to any alternative phrasing you might prefer), first copy or rename this file to "Messages.txt"; next alter the text in the entries concerned (optionally removing any entries you do not want changed); and finally move the modified file to the Click-N-Type installation folder. Next time you run Click-N-Type, the program will automatically display your customized messages instead of the default English-language messages. Note that each entry begins with a colon-prefixed ":Label", for example ":DoMacro.Stored", followed by one or more lines of the text of the associated message (in this example, "Macro stored."). The labels are used by the program to locate the particular text messages as it needs to display them: be careful not alter any of the labels while you are altering the text or the program will not be able to find and display the modifications concerned. However, you may completely remove any label and text combination that you do not wish to modify, as the program contains an internal copy of each message (in its default English format) which it will display whenever it cannot find the associated label in the table. (The removal of unmodified label and text combinations is optional, making for a neater table and saving some computer "resources", but no harm will come from leaving them in the table if you prefer to do that. You may also alter, remove or add to any or all of these comment lines preceding the table). If - after you have renamed and modified the file, moved it to the Click-N-Type installation folder and restarted Click-N-Type - you find that the program continues to display the default English language messages instead of your modifications, there is some sort of format error (or in computer jargon, "syntax error") in the translation table - check that all the label and text combinations are intact, each label has one or more following text lines, you have not inadvertently prefixed one of these preceding comment lines with a colon, none of the labels in the table have been accidentally altered, etc. TWO TIPS: Tip: Any LEADING spaces in a text line are stripped before the program displays the message concerned. You can exploit this behaviour to indent the message texts so that the layout of the table is clearer. Tip: A leading colon on any line in this file indicates to the program that the following characters on that line make up a label (so ensure that any comments you might add do not have a leading colon). If you wish to start a displayed text message with a colon, precede the colon with at least one space " :Like this". ONE CAUTION: Caution: The last line of the table must be followed by a "new line" (in computer terms, a ) or the text in it will be ignored and the default English language message for that entry will be displayed instead. AND A REQUEST: Request: if you have made a cool set of modifications or translations that might benefit others, please send a copy of the file to us so that it can be distributed via the Click-N-Type web site at http://CNT.LakeFolks.com THE TABLE: ======================================================== CLICK-N-TYPE MESSAGE TRANSLATION TABLE ======================================================== :DoMacro.Stored Macro stored. :DoMacro.Deleted Macro deleted. :DoMacro.NoAction No action. :DoMacro.NoMacro No Macro is associated with this key. :ProgrammingMacros. Can't Can't perform this function while programming Macros :cmdClipboard.NoText No text to put on Clipboard :MacroClearQuestion Are you sure you want to delete all user defined Macros? :Macro.NoProgram Macros can not be programmed while AutoClick is active. :MacroDisplay.Enter Entering Macro Display mode :MacroDisplay.Exit Exiting Macro Display mode :Macro.WantDelete The current buffer is empty.
